Need Help?
The MyAthlete application is easy to use, but in case you have questions; below are some pointers on how to use this application. NOTE: This help screen will go away when you click the RACES button at the top left of the screen or when you click on any TAB at the bottom of the screen. So, you may want to make one full pass through the help below, before touching your way forward. You can always get back here anytime of course. ENJOY!
Step One - Select a Race
The first step when following your Athlete’s race is selecting the race in which he or she is a participant. The races are listed by date, with the most current races at the top. You must chose a race when you launch this application. If you are not sure, touch the “races” button in the upper left and select the race that your Athlete is doing today. You can always return to the “races” screen to change your race selection.
Step Three - See your Athlete's Race Data
Once you have selected your Athlete, the fun begins. There are three TABS at the bottom of the screen that show information about your Athlete. The first is the STATS TAB, where you can see a summary of your Athlete’s race. This includes their live information and a recap of what they have done today. The data will update frequently to keep you current on his or her race.
Step Four - Find you Athlete on the Map
The second TAB is the Map Tab. In addition to the raw numbers of your Athlete’s race, the Map TAB lets you see where your Athlete is on the course. Look for a small MyAthlete® triangle icon on the map and touch it. A bubble will pop up showing your Athlete’s name and some basic data from their race. This icon will move as the race goes on, so that you can see where your Athlete is on the race course. The screen also has a few more options. The ZOOM button in the upper left of the map will bring up some options for zooming in on specific parts of the course. The SHOW ME button is described below.
Step Five - Find Yourself on the Map
By default MyAthlete will show you where your Athlete is on the map; but if you are at the race, we can help you actually SEE your Athlete too! The SHOW ME button will use GPS to show your location on the map, letting you orient yourself and position yourself to cheer your Athlete on as often as possible. You will show up on the map as a blue dot. As a bonus, whenever your location is known and you are near the course, MyAthlete can estimate when your Athlete will arrive at your location! Simply switch back to the STATS TAB and touch ETA (estimated time to arrival) and choose look “To My Location”. You can also use the ETA and choose “To Finish Line” and “To Transition”. Sweet!
Step Six - See your Athletes full Journey
The third TAB is the Profile Tab. This application can show where your Athlete is on a Profile view of the race course. Touch the Profile TAB to show this view, and you will see the entire course laid out from left to right. Your Athlete will show up as a MyAthlete® triangle icon with his or her name above it. You can’t see your own location on the Profile, but it can be helpful in knowing how far along your Athlete is on their journey that day. It also gives you a sense of how hill the course is, most times a huge factor in races.
